Regenerative Braking refers to the function of an electric vehicle to slow down by recovering energy through the motor and controller into the battery.

This is a feature and operating mode of an electric vehicle power train where the power transfer is reversed.
This slows the vehicle down by capturing energy through the motor into the main battery.
The battery must accept incoming power for this feature to work, and the controller must manage the process.
