Gen1

Generation 1 or "Gen1" refers to Zero motorcycles made from 2006-2012, whether part of the X Platform or S Platform.
This is not an official designation, just a useful way to group and distinguish information as the platforms evolved.
It's important to understand that during this phase of Zero's development, nearly every year introduced component and systems changes that made them remarkably different per-year, and sales were never that high, and these factors made supporting these vehicles very difficult.
- Most Gen1 Zero motorcycles have either been recalled, traded-in for newer models and taken off the road, or are maintained by careful owners with often an uncommon amount of technical ability to keep them running.
