NEMA 14-50 refers to a 4-wire receptacle and plug set for split-phase (120V and 240V) or single-phase power (208V AC).
- These plugs are a North American standard and can often be found in RV parks.
- The typical power rating supplied to such a plug is 45A (50A is in the name) yielding up to 9kW from single-phase wiring and 10.5kW from split-phase wiring.
